Tutor (Per Diem) - CREC Resource Group
Position Purpose:
Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager and the district teachers, the tutor will create a positive environment, which supports engaged student learning. The tutor will deliver instruction to students from diverse populations in subjects such as math, English, history, social studies, language arts, etc.
Essential Job Functions:
Travel to students' homes, libraries, or schools to conduct tutoring sessions.
Schedule tutoring appointments with parents.
Organize tutoring environment to promote productivity and learning.
Monitor student performance or assist students in academic environments, such as classrooms, laboratories, or computing centers.
Review class material with students by discussing text, working solutions to problems, or reviewing worksheets or other assignments.
Provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in students.
Prepare lesson plans or learning modules for tutoring sessions according to students' needs and goals.
Maintain records of students' assessment results, progress, feedback, or school performance.
Maintain confidentiality of all student information and records.
Implement intervention strategies, tutoring plans, or individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
Collaborate with students, parents, teachers, school administrators, or counselors to determine student needs, develop tutoring plans, or assess student progress.
Administer, proctor, or score academic assessments.
Provide weekly progress updates to CREC program managers and district staff.
Follow CREC tutoring and communication protocols??
Qualifications Profile:
Special Education Certification required
Ability and desire to work with students of all grade levels
Ability to work with diverse populations
Ability to form effective working relationships with students and adults
Able to serve as a positive, professional role model for students
Proficiency in all academic areas
Minimum one year of experience working children
Effective communication with colleagues and parents
Ability to give clear directions in a way that children can understand.
Excellent written communication skills
Ability to pass background check
