We are seeking a Design Engineer to join our Water/Wastewater Utilities team, supporting the design of capital improvement projects, construction observation efforts, and master planning studies for public sector clients throughout Colorado. In this role, you will contribute to essential infrastructure projects that enhance system reliability, support long term growth, and improve quality of life for the communities we serve. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team committed to technical excellence and practical, forward thinking solutions.
Muller Engineering is based in Lakewood, Colorado, offering a hybrid work schedule that supports in person collaboration and flexibility. We welcome applicants from across the continental United States who are open to relocating to the Denver metro area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design of water/wastewater improvements such as water transmission and distribution lines, shallow and deep well facilities, meter and valve vaults, pumps and pumping facilities, wastewater collection pipelines, sewage lift stations, and irrigation ditch diversion facilities and measurement structures.
- Preparation of construction drawings using AutoCAD and Civil3D, development of specifications, technical report writing, and guiding the work of design technicians.
- Construction engineering support and observation.
- Hydraulic water and wastewater modeling, capital improvements programming and master planning studies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education and/or Experience Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a similar engineering discipline from an accredited college or university. A master's degree is a plus.
- 0-3 years of experience with an interest/focus on the design of water and wastewater improvements.
- AutoCAD/Civil3D or MicroStation/OpenRoads experience a plus.
- Construction engineering support and observation experience a plus.
- Experience with water/wastewater hydraulic modeling computer programs a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills.
- A desire to grow personally and professionally while working in a team environment to create designs supporting our clients' overall project goals.
Required License or Certification: - Engineer Intern (EI) certification is preferred.
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $92,000 annually. Compensation is determined based on education, experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
