A Penske Customer Service Coordinator is focused on working with customers to schedule preventative maintenance requests, coordinate outside repairs, plan and manage the shop work plan.
This position will report to our Birmingham Downtown location.

Major responsibilities include developing daily and weekly workforce plans, communicating with customers for maintenance updates, ensuring Penske rental units are maintained, ensuring parts are available for scheduled work, holding vendors accountable for quality and adherence to schedule for outside work, providing customer service, maintaining shop productivity, coordinating with district billing clerks, and other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications include 2 years of customer service experience, at least 1 year of hands on mechanical experience, 2 years of supervisory experience preferred, 2 years of service department administration preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required, associates degree, technical school degree, or bachelors degree preferred, ASE certification preferred, prior experience with service scheduling programs and diagnostic programs preferred, regular, predictable, full attendance, willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
Physical requirements include moving frequently, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended length of time throughout their scheduled working period, using hands on a routine and daily basis to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and/or otherwise operate required tools or controls, safely working in all weather conditions, regularly lifting and/or moving up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 100lbs/45kg.
