Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to support K-12 students in a full-time, onsite role within a dynamic school environment located in Big Lake, AK. The position requires dedication to fostering inclusive educational experiences and meeting diverse student needs across various grade levels and classroom types.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Deliver specialized instructional services tailored to individual student goals within special education programs.
  • Manage and support a caseload of 10-25 students, depending on program typeresource or special programs.
  • Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, staff, and families to support student progress and inclusion.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with Individualized Education Program (IEP) requirements.
  • Utilize Alaska state-approved special education practices and adhere to all certification standards.

Qualifications and Experience :

  • Valid Alaska certification and licensure in Special Education.
  • Proven experience working with K-12 students in diverse classroom settings.
  • Strong knowledge of individualized instruction and behavioral support strategies.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and caseloads effectively.
  • Commitment to onsite presence during the school year contract duration.

    • Location and Schedule :

  • Position is based onsite in Big Lake, Alaska.
  • Full-time role at 37.5 hours per week.
  • Contract runs from ASAP through May 21, 2026.
  • No virtual or voice-over options; onsite work is required.
