Key Responsibilities
Respond to and initiate care for inmates/patients requiring mental health services throughout the facility.
Assess inmates/patients in various settings to evaluate their mental health status and needs.
Identify mental health issues and prescribe treatment under the supervision of a physician.
Implement mental health services and treatment plans using therapeutic regimens approved by psychiatrists.
Provide mental health education to inmates/patients, healthcare teams, and correctional staff to promote understanding and effective care.
Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all mental healthcare contacts in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Adhere to all safety and security policies, participate in disaster drills, and follow established security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications.
Delegate infection control tasks and supervise infection control practices to maintain a safe environment.
Follow Universal Precautions and other infection control protocols to ensure safety across the facility.
Utilize personal protective equipment as required during treatment and care delivery.
Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall function and safety of the facility.
Key Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or related field with current state license/certification.
Must have current CPR certification to ensure patient safety in clinical settings.
Must be available to participate in the on-call schedule to support critical care needs.
Subject to background check, security clearance, and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
