The Healthcare Management Fellow plays a key role in recruiting the next class of Management Fellows. This includes reviewing applications and participating in the interview process including logistics and on-site activities. The incumbent is proficient in identification and resolution of moderate to complex organizational issues. Works on strategic organizational consulting issues that are diverse in scope, where analysis of situations requires evaluation of various factors. Normally receives little instruction on planning, researching, and resolving organizational effectiveness issues, with general instructions and guidance provided on new assignments and / or more unique situations including strategic planning. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000 (Annual Rate).

The Healthcare Management Fellowship program sits within the Office of the SVP / COO of UCSF Health which is responsible for ensuring coordination and alignment of strategy and resources across UCSF Health. Areas of direct responsibility include Nursing, Perioperative Services, Clinical Services (Pharmacy, Lab, and Radiology), Facilities, Supply Chain and Support Services (Hospitality, Patient Transport.) The SVP / COO also has matrixed responsibilities for COOs from the individual business units (Children's, Adult, and Cancer.) The SVP / COO is responsible for an operating budget of approximately $1.5 billion and approximately 6000 FTE. FY20 operating budget of $1.5 billion, capital portfolio of over $3 billion, and revenue cycle of $9.9 billion) for approximately 400 cost centers.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Master's degree in health care administration, business, public health, or related field
Prior project management / leadership experience
Demonstrates analytical, problem-solving, project planning, and implementation skills.
Possesses effective verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrates ability to learn quickly, reason, synthesize, and generalize based on information obtained.
Ability to focus on priorities, strategies, and vision.
Ability to coach, facilitate, and influence people.
Thorough knowledge of the organizational development and effectiveness field, theories, models to assess, design and implement customized organizational interventions.
Skilled in facilitation, consulting and relationship building.
