Job Description

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Certifications : BLS from AHA required; ACLS from AHA preferred

1 year of experience in Medical-Surgical nursing, inpatient only

Description :

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.

Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care.

Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers.

Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments.

Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with established mission and values.

Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort.

Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice.

Working conditions include standing and walking most of the time on duty.

Meets unit-specific physical demands.

Significant amount of bending and stooping, as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance.

May be required to work differing schedules, shifts, or days of the week according to patient care requirements.

High risk exposure to blood and body fluids.

Physical demands include pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs., as well as kneeling, crouching, and crawling minimally.

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care for post-trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities.

Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care and evaluates the effectiveness of care provided.

Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments and maintains patient rights and confidentiality.

Performs duties and responsibilities consistently with the established mission and values.

Additional Information :

Care for medical / surgical patients with various conditions.

Patient ratios are 1 : 5-6 on days and 1 : 6-7 on nights, with no guaranteed ratios.

May be floated to other units depending on staffing needs.

Dress code includes black scrubs with no open-toed shoes permitted.

Offers are contingent upon facility approval and may be retracted within 48 hours.
