Surgery - RUHS

Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Surgery at Riverside University Health System (RUHS), is seeking a motivated and collaborative Physician Assistant to join our multidisciplinary surgical care team. We offer a collegial and supportive team environment with an opportunity for professional growth and continuing education in surgical specialties including vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, general and robotic surgery. The PA will provide clinical support in management of patients in ambulatory surgical clinics with occasional expectation of managing patients in the inpatient setting. This would be an ideal position for someone who values longitudinal patient relationships, comprehensive patient care including minor surgical procedures and close collaboration with attending surgeons and the broader healthcare team. No nights, weekends or on-call shifts.

Primary responsibilities will include:

• Conducting perioperative evaluations, including H&Ps, patient counseling and longterm surveillance.
• Participating in care coordination as a liaison between the care team and clinic managers, nurse coordinators, research staff and other support staff.
• Managing postoperative followup visits, wound checks, minor procedure clinic and longitudinal surveillance.
• Documenting clinical encounters accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record.

Additional responsibilities may include participation in quality improvement initiatives, developing patient education programs, providing education to PA students or other duties as assigned by the department chair.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Must have valid State of California PA. License.

Must have National Board Certification for PA’s

Must be able to obtain medical staff privileges.

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation range listed is for starting base compensation only and is adjusted based upon years of experience and/or faculty rank: $150,000 - 180,000. This amount does not include variable compensation or extra productivity and is subject to the individual department compensation plans. More information on compensation is discussed with the departments during the recruitment process.
