Job Description

Prepares, distributes and controls sterile and non-sterile supplies, equipment, and instrumentation.  Assists the patient care team to provide and maintain customer service focus essential for smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Education & Training :   High school diploma, with certification as Central Sterile Technician preferred.
• Work Orientation & Experience :   Previous experience in a Central Sterile Supply Technician position preferred.

Must be self-directed and capable to carry out assignments with limited supervision and will accept responsibility to assist in on-the-job training of new team members.

Ability to :

a) effectively convey verbal and written information

b) follow directions

c) respond to emergency situations appropriately

d) adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs of the hospital, including all shifts

e) effectively function as a member of a collaborative team

f) organize and manage time effectively, setting appropriate priorities

g) comply with The Joint Commission and OSHA standards

(h) be self-directed and capable to carry out assignments with limited supervision and

(i) assist in on-the-job training of new team members.
