A leading organization in New York City is currently seeking a dedicated Behavioral Intervention Specialist (BIS) for its team in The Bronx and Manhattan. This full-time position offers a dynamic work environment in group homes, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

About the Opportunity :

  • Shift : Flexible
  • Field Work
  • Hours : 37.5 hours per week
  • Setting : Group Homes

Responsibilities :

The Behavioral Intervention Specialist will be responsible for :

  • Developing functional behavioral assessments and support plans
  • Providing individual and group counseling
  • Presenting psychotropic medications and behavior support plans to committees
  • Training staff in behavior plan implementation and monitoring
  • Providing referrals for psychiatric care and evaluations

    • Qualifications :

  • 2+ years of experience in BIS fieldwork
  • Master's degree in psychology or related field
  • BCBA certification is a plus
  • Strong assessment and behavior support development skills
  • Proficient in EMR systems, specifically PrecisionCare
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel within the metropolitan area
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Problem-solving abilities

    • Desired Skills :

  • 5 years of experience with IDD individuals
  • BCBA certification
  • Advanced skills in psychological assessments
  • Expertise in behavior support plan training
  • Strong interpersonal skills
