About the Role
The Tax Specialist will be responsible for delivering comprehensive private client tax services within a multi-family office environment. This individual will manage tax compliance and planning for closely held businesses, their owners, and other high-net-worth individuals, while providing strategic guidance on estate, gift, and succession planning. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, client-focused, and comfortable collaborating across disciplines to support sophisticated clients and enhance operational efficiency for small family offices.

Prepare and review complex tax returns (individual, fiduciary, partnership, corporate)Develop tax planning strategies for clients and their businessesInterpret and communicate tax law changes to clients and internal teamsSupport estate, gift, and succession planning initiativesCollaborate with advisors, attorneys, and accountants to deliver integrated solutionsAssist with IRS and state tax inquiries and auditsParticipate in multi-disciplinary client meetingsSecondary (Non-Essential) Job Duties

Operates independently within defined tax responsibilities.Advises clients and internal teams on tax matters.Escalates complex legal or compliance issues to senior leadership.Education & Training
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.CPA or Enrolled Agent designation preferred.Master’s in Taxation (MST) or JD / LL.M. in Taxation is a plus.Experience Required
7–10 years of progressive tax experience in a public accounting, wealth management, or multi-family office environment.Proven experience with tax compliance and planning for closely held businesses, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals.Familiarity with estate, gift, and succession planning concepts.Background in public accounting, wealth management, or family office.Experience with closely held businesses and high-net-worth individuals.Technology Skills
Proficiency in tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, GoSystem or similar).Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.Familiarity with document management and CRM systems.Tax preparation and planning software.Office productivity tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).Secure file sharing and document management platforms.Skills
