The team is seeking a Property Accountant to play a critical role in managing the financial operations of their apartment portfolio. This hybrid position is based near Wheeling , IL , requiring in-office collaboration on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Key Responsibilities include :

• Property Financial Management : Prepare and maintain financial statements for assigned properties, including balance sheets, income statements, and performance analyses.
• Account Reconciliations : Perform monthly bank reconciliations for property accounts and ensure all entries are accurately recorded in the general ledger.
• Cash Management : Monitor and track property-level cash flow, ensuring timely execution of payments, cash distributions, and capital calls.
• Journal Entries : Prepare and post journal entries related to accruals, prepaids, and other property-specific transactions.
• Budget Support : Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for assigned properties.
• Audit Assistance : Provide supporting documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial standards and regulations.
• Collaborative Communication : Work closely with on-site property managers, corporate personnel, and investors to address day-to-day accounting needs and inquiries.
• System Utilization : Support the setup and maintenance of property accounting systems, including Yardi, to streamline financial reporting processes.
• Acquisition & Disposition : Contribute to the financial transition process during property acquisitions and sales by reviewing financial documentation and assisting with system updates.
