Responsible for all phases of safely operating a crane within the guidelines of all federal regulation standards as well as company standards. Must possess a strong work ethic with the ability to lead a team, in direct relation with management and/or the A/D Director assigned, in the processes and procedures for the assembly, disassembly, and day-to-day operations of the equipment. Specific individual equipment qualifications will be determined, and approved, by the Executive Management Team of Crane Service Inc.
What You’ll Do
- Operate crane under general supervision.
- Manipulate or depress cane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.
- Repair crane as needed.
- Inspections: Pre-trip, post trip, daily, weekly, and monthly equipment inspections.
- Determine if any parts are malfunctioning.
- Complete job tickets, service quality summaries, and all other necessary paperwork.
- Assemble and disassemble in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. Ensure crane is assembled completely and safely before operations begin.
- Lift, position and place machinery, equipment or other large objects at construction sites and industrial facilities.
- Drive trucks to worksites and unload trucks.
- Place blocks and outriggers to prevent capsizing when lifting heavy loads.
- Move levers and pedals to rotate crane on chassis to raise and lower crane boom and to raise and lower load-line.
- Bolt boom sections together to extend or modify boom for pile driving or high lifting.
- Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
- Operate crane according to signals from helper.
- Start and stop crane engine.
- Follow directions carefully.
- Assist in keeping crew on tasks and focused.
- Assist and/or lead the morning tailgate discussions to ensure all personnel understand their role(s) for each day.
- Willingness to exercise Stop Work Authority if/when needed.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Qualifications include:
- Class A CDL
- NCCCO Certification
- NCCCO Rigger I (Rigger II recommended)
- Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and fit for duty test
- Flexibility to work overtime when necessary
- Ability to read lift plans and configuration drawings to ensure that equipment is assembled correctly for the scope of work being performed.
- Knowledgeable with OSHA regulations and ANSI standards.

Working EnvironmentThe employee may be required to wear appropriate PPE equipment. The employee could occasionally be exposed to extreme temperatures, fumes, or airborne particles. The noise level in the workplace is moderate.
- Lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and/or pulling; climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant finger dexterity necessary.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs.
- Ability to operate a forklift safely.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment WorkSTEPS physical.
- Requires passing a pre-employment background check and drug screen to the satisfaction of Crane Service Inc. Company.
- This position is exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, and moderate noise levels.
- Must possess a clean MVR & valid Driver's License
- This job requires the ability to obtain a Medical Certification.
- Requires working and driving outdoors in various climates/temperatures and the possibility of sitting for an extended period.
