[job_card.job_description]Create, update, test, and maintain IBM ALC programs. Provide support for existing Java programs and assist in their maintenance. Conduct trial runs of programs to ensure correctness and the desired output. Write, update, and maintain programs to handle specific jobs like inventory tracking and data retrieval. Revise, repair, or expand existing programs to enhance operational efficiency or adapt to new requirements. Consult with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify program intent and address issues. Perform systems analysis and programming tasks to ensure effective computer systems software management. Document program development and revisions, adding comments to code for clarity. Maintain detailed workflow charts and diagrams that describe input, output, and logical operations. Collaborate with Computer Systems Analysts to resolve programming issues. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Six (6) or more years of relevant experience in programming. Experience with IBM ALC programming language in a Z / OS environment. Proficient in IBM Job Control Language (JCL). Experience with Java programming and strong troubleshooting skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interface effectively with all management levels. Strong organizational, time management, and scheduling skills; able to tackle complex tasks with minimal supervision. Capable of working well separately or as part of a team. Possess an active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) and comply with federal tax filing requirements. Familiarity with TSO, File Manager, ISPF, Endevor, and IBM utilities, including De-Bug functionality; experience with IRS Corporate Systems.
Description & Requirements
Maximus is looking for a skilled Assembler Language Computer (ALC) Programmer to join our dynamic team supporting the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Master File project. In this role, you will be pivotal in program analysis, design, development, maintaining, and upgrading source code, along with testing and debugging as necessary.
This is a fully remote, direct hire, full-time position.
Applicants must possess an active IRS Moderate-Risk Background Investigation (MBI) and comply with federal tax filing requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
- Offer design and implementation expertise to a cross-functional software development team.
- Design and develop software applications based on business requirements in collaboration with team members.
- Support testing efforts and assist in remediating defects.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and training to fellow team members as needed.
