Snout is one of the fastest growing wellness plan providers in the veterinary space, trusted by clinics across the U.S. We’re a small but mighty startup team of <30 employees. We’re on the lookout for an experienced
- BDR Lead
- based in the Metro Detroit area to help us build our outbound pipeline, set the standard for excellence in our business development function and scale it from the ground up.
- The role
As a BDR Lead based in our Troy, Michigan office, you'll be a pipeline generation machine and a key contributor to building our outbound sales engine. You'll figure out how to break into vet clinics, create a book of accounts and crush your individual targets. This role is perfect for someone who's mastered the craft of prospecting and wants to help establish the playbooks and best practices that the BDR team can replicate.
Your impact will be immediate and significant. Beyond hitting aggressive pipeline targets, you'll test new prospecting strategies, refine our messaging, and provide feedback that shapes our go-to-market approach. You'll work closely with our account executives to ensure smooth handoffs and partner with marketing to optimize our outbound campaigns. As we grow, you'll have opportunities to take on leadership responsibilities like mentoring, and help scale the team.

- What you’ll do
- Break and prospect into high-value target accounts (veterinary practice owners and decision-makers) using multi-channel outreach across email, phone, LinkedIn and in-person meetings
- Consistently generate qualified opportunities that meet or exceed monthly pipeline targets
- Conduct discovery calls to understand clinic needs and determine fit before passing to Account Executives
- Design, test, and optimize prospecting sequences and messaging to maximize conversion rates at every stage
- Build a BDR playbook from scratch and mentor junior BDRs by sharing best practices, conducting role plays, and modeling excellent outreach techniques
- Collaborate with marketing to refine ideal customer profiles, provide campaign feedback, and improve content effectiveness
- What we're looking for
- 1+ years of experience as a SDR / BDR with a consistent track record of exceeding quota
- Proven ability to prospect into SMB or mid-market accounts and navigate to decision-makers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to personalize outreach at scale
- Deep familiarity with sales technology and prospecting tools (Salesforce, Outreach, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, etc.)
- Self-starter who thrives with autonomy and can manage a complex pipeline without constant oversight
- Curiosity and coachability — you're always looking to improve your craft and learn from wins and losses

- Compensation
- $50 000 - 60 000 base salary / $80, 000 - 100 000+ OTE (~$50 000+ in expected, uncapped commission)
