Assistant Controller

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT :  Active Secret Clearance is required to start

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS : Up to 33%

LOCATION : Norfolk, VA

SUMMARY : WR has an opportunity for a Principal Field Technician OPS to perform skilled technical tasks in the field, production and repair operations, and in-system analysis, testing and commissioning.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES will include, but are not limited to the following :

• Travels to customer sites as a technical representative of project, and conducts field tests, interprets and evaluates field data, and serves as a liaison with industrial, governmental, and other sponsors.
• Provides training, guidance, oversight, and performance feedback to junior field representatives and support personnel.
• Assigns work to junior field representatives, technicians, and other support personnel in support of project.
• Develops proposals and statements of Work.
• Assists with the technical management of the project.
• Prepares status, progress, and final reports for projects, describing the results of field experiments and / or inspections.
• Light-off, configure, test, troubleshoot, and operate primary systems and peripheral equipment in support of systems analysis and equipment readiness certification.
• Verifies functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Maintains and continuously seeks improvements of test procedures and processes for maximum efficiency, safety, and quality.
• Continuously develops skills with new technology and systems relevant to on-going and anticipated projects.

CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE :

Associate’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology OR technical or military training with electronics, electronic equipment, inertial navigation, OR systems engineering.

Ten (10)+ years of experience performing work in support of operation and systems analysis of government or Commercial Electronic Systems or Inertial Navigation Equipment, including :

Experience in government and / or civilian shipyards (NNSY, NNS, HII, EBC, etc.).
