Automotive Customs Technician (Tech 2)
General Description
Join our elite team as an aftermarket Custom Car Technician. This is an opportunity to showcase your automotive technician skills working on custom street performance vehicles. The ideal candidate will be responsible for disassembling, fitting components, problem solving and assembling custom vehicles from start to finish. Working with critical systems including powertrain, brakes, steering, suspension, fuel, air conditioning, and system electronics. Success in this role is defined by flawless installations, innovative problem-solving, and an ability to exceed expectations.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 7 : 30 AM to 4 : 30 PM
Lunch Between Noon to 1 : 00 PM
Saturdays and Overtime as needed

A candidate must demonstrate the ability to learn new skills on the job, collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, and have experience with traditional mechanical, hydraulic, and simple electrical systems selected for the custom build. Responsibilities
- Specify and Install OEM vehicle Components
- Specify and Install Aftermarket Performance Components
- Diagnose Root Cause vehicle problems or faults
- Test drive vehicles to reproduce and evaluate customer concerns
- Perform standard maintenance on factory recommended intervals
- Provide aftermarket maintenance services to extend the life of worn assemblies
- Perform inspections and make recommendations for repairs
- Perform repairs according to approved procedures
- Install aftermarket performance components (Brakes, Suspension, Steering, Powertrain)
- Keep a clean and orderly work station
- Assist in shop maintenance and cleaning as required
- Keep up with industry trends through continued education
- Maintain business paperwork for client projects and the company
Skills and Qualifications
High School Diploma / GED preferredASE certification or completion of an automotive technical program strongly preferred3 or more years of experience working on motor vehicles or other shop settingA team-oriented mindset with strong communication skillsStrong mechanical aptitude with automotive mechanic work historyElectrical diagnostic skills for basic electrical systemsShop equipment is provided, but you must supply your own hand toolsPrevious experience working in a performance or dealer service centerFamiliarity with part lookup and installation processes for productsWelding and metal-working experience desired but not necessaryCommitment to continuous improvement and ongoing job trainingClean driving record with no accidents or DUI convictionsAbility to move and operate auto repair equipmentExcellent customer service and organizational skillsStrong attention to detail, knowledge of safety practicesAbility to complete projects within a deadlineSelf motivation with a focus on delivering the highest level of customer satisfactionWillingness gain necessary training by participating in seminars and classesFlexibility to learn quickly in a fast-growing environment with aggressive timelinesAbility to lift 40 lbs without aidSoftware Tools
