Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. machining injection molding welding) and material selection. Expertise in applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and DFM / DFA principles. Experience with design validation prototyping and testing methodologies. Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop innovative cost-effective solutions. Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Hands-on experience with prototyping fabrication or assembly processes. Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Product Data Management (PDM) systems. Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize mechanical designs for manufacturability and performance.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings for production.
- Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for product components.
- Collaborate with manufacturing production and quality teams to resolve design issues.
- Conduct design analysis (e.g. DFM DFA) to ensure cost-effectiveness and reliability.
- Support prototyping testing and validation of new and modified designs.
- Generate and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for design specifications.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards safety regulations and customer requirements.
