Position : QA Analyst / ETL Tester / Data Warehouse QA

Location : Tallahassee, FL

Duration : 8+ Months (November 14, 2024 June 30, 2025) | Possible 1-Year Renewal

Job Type : Contract | Onsite

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Analyst / ETL Tester / Data Warehouse QA professional to join our team in Tallahassee, FL . This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and quality of data processed through ETL pipelines and stored in data warehouse (DWH) environments for analytics and business intelligence reporting.

You will be responsible for test planning, execution, defect management, and data validation , collaborating with developers, DBAs, and analysts to ensure data consistency from source systems to BI reports . This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with expertise in SQL, ETL testing, data reconciliation, and BI reporting tools .

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze business requirements, ETL mapping documents, and data models .
  • Write and execute SQL queries to validate data integrity, transformations, and business logic.
  • Test ETL jobs including extraction, transformation, and loading into target tables .
  • Validate fact and dimension tables , keys, measures, and attributes.
  • Perform data reconciliation between source, staging, ODS, and data warehouse.
  • Conduct data quality checks : nulls, duplicates, invalid values, referential integrity.
  • Verify aggregations, derived columns, KPIs, and business rules.
  • Test BI reports and dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, Cognos) against warehouse tables.
  • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and DBAs to resolve defects and ensure data accuracy .
  • Automate regression, sanity, and performance testing where applicable.
  • Develop test strategies, plans, and QA metrics for ETL / DWH projects.
  • Prepare test summary reports and present quality metrics to stakeholders.
  • Mentor team members and promote QA best practices .

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technical Writing, Business Administration, or related field (or 5+ years equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in systems development, QA testing, or business analysis .

    • Technical Skills :

  • Strong SQL (joins, aggregations, window functions).
  • Expertise in Data Warehouse (DWH) concepts, ETL testing , and manual / automated testing .
  • Experience creating test plans, test cases, defect tracking, and QA reporting .
  • Basic Unix / Linux skills for job monitoring and log analysis.

    • Proven Experience :

  • Hands?on experience with ETL tools, BI / Reporting tools, and test management tools (JIRA, ALM, Quality Center).
  • Experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases.

    • Soft Skills :

  • Strong analytical, problem?solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and attention to detail .
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and meet deadlines .

    • Note : Candidate must successfully complete a Level II Background Check .

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications such as : ISTQB, CSTE, CAST, CSQA .
  • Experience with automated ETL testing frameworks .
