The Role

The Development Manager oversees the full lifecycle of multifamily development projects—from site evaluation and entitlements through construction completion, lease-up, and delivery. This role manages budgets, schedules, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure projects are executed efficiently and in alignment with company goals. Reports to the Managing Director of Development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of multifamily development, including feasibility, due diligence, entitlements, design, construction, and closeout
• Conduct site investigations, yield analysis, and underwriting support in collaboration with Acquisitions and Capital Markets
• Manage zoning, environmental reviews, public approvals, and community engagement
• Negotiate and oversee contracts with architects, engineers, consultants, and third-party vendors
• Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and monthly financial reporting
• Serve as owner’s representative during design and construction, including permitting and utility coordination
• Coordinate project turnover to asset and property management; support lease-up activities
• Prepare materials for tax credit applications and Investment Committee approvals
• Identify risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold quality and sustainability standards
• Build and maintain relationships with public agencies, community stakeholders, and internal teams
