Burrow Global is seeking to hire 4 IE&C Engineers for a 12-month project with a petrochemical plant in Deer Park, TX.
Candidates for this position will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electrical & instrumentation solutions used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery, and processes.
This position requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, automation / process control technologies, and instrumentation, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. As an IEC Discipline Expert, this role will take greater autonomy, execute specific projects assigned by IEC department leader and work in collaborative environment with Project Managers and stake holders in the organization. Role will require deeper level of technical capability to ensure design compliance in more complex or higher value projects and take a leading role for project execution.
Critical Success Factors in Role :
- Ensuring design standards / code compliance in electrical and instrumentation and other technologies.
- Providing technical leadership within instrumentation to project team from a design, construction and commissioning perspective, and coaching site construction and contractors in the assigned projects and teams.
- Expertise in troubleshooting technical problems and providing solutions. Identify and resolve design issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot, maintaining, and optimizing existing instrumentation and control systems, which include systems (DCS), Delta V and ABB systems, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), control wiring, terminal blocks, low voltage fusing, etc. and instrumentation. Experience with plant power distribution and motor protection.
- Should be able drive and walk within facility and ability to work both in office and plant chemical environment with safety dress code as applied
- Align with leadership and work in harmony with one team mindset.
- Protect company data from any cyberattack or known / perceived vulnerability.
Responsibilities :
System Design and Development :
Provide technical expertise and guidance on electrical, instrumentation & control projects, including system design, implementation, and optimization (of hardware and software components).Create detailed technical specifications, diagrams, and documentation.Implementing energy-efficient designs / solutions and integrating sustainability into designSpecifying and sourcing components / equipment / instruments / sensors / materials.Key resource for resolving complex technical issues related to automation systems projects.Conducting risk assessments and implementing safety protocols.Project Execution :
Oversee the installation, configuration, and integration of electrical / instruments and systems through commissioning and handover.Ensure integration of electrical / instruments and automation systems with existing processes and technologies.Calibration of instruments and performance tests / studies to verify functionality.Program and configure equipment to meet project specifications.Identify and resolve design issues throughout the project lifecycle.Conduct commissioning testing and validation of systems to ensure they meet performance and reliability standards.Assist in troubleshooting technical problems and provide solutions as needed.Optimization :
Identifying and owning opportunities for process optimization and improvements.Implement enhancements and upgrades to optimize system performance and reliability.Develop and handover maintenance schedules and proceduresDocumentation and Compliance :
Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including technical specifications, user manuals, test results and maintenance records.Ensure all systems comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.Collaboration and Communication :
Work closely with project managers, engineers, technicians, and other team members to ensure successful project delivery.Providing hand over of all documentation and systems at completion of commissioningCommunicate project status, progress, and issues to stakeholders effectively.Participate in Instrument testing and user acceptance testingEducation / Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering , or a related field. Preference for professional certifications in a relevant field or with a recognized industry organization.
Experience and Skills
Minimum 5-10 years’ experience working in as an Electrical or Instrumentation Engineer, or in a similar role in engineering design in industrial contexts, and delivery through to construction and commissioning. Preference for experience in chemical processing and facilities.
