Design Engineer – PEMB / Steel Buildings

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to support the design and engineering of Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) systems. This role is responsible for producing structural designs, calculations, and drawings while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and project requirements. The ideal candidate has deep PEMB industry experience and is highly proficient with Metal Building Software (MBS).

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and analysis for PEMB and steel building systems

• Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications

• Design PEMB components including frames, bracing, secondary members, and connections

• Utilize Metal Building Software (MBS) for structural design and optimization

• Ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and jurisdictional requirements

• Coordinate with detailing, fabrication, and project management teams

• Review and respond to RFIs and design-related questions

• Support project execution through construction and fabrication phases

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in the Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) industry

• Strong proficiency with Metal Building Software (MBS)

• Professional Engineer (PE) license required in Louisiana

• Extensive knowledge of structural steel and PEMB systems

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects

• Strong communication and technical documentation skills
