EVS Supervisor

OHSU is Oregon's only public academic health center. We are a system of hospitals and clinics across Oregon and southwest Washington. The purpose of this position is to supervise, schedule, and develop EVS staff to meet the needs of patients, visitors, and staff. This position is responsible for providing direct supervision over EVS Technicians, assigning work, developing staff schedules, addressing patient and visitor requests, ensuring the completion of work to the standard, and ensuring excellence in maintaining a clean, safe, orderly, and attractive patient care environment. In addition, this position is charged with upholding the mission of the department and organization through continuous improvement.

There are three positions available, one for Days, Evenings, and Nights.

Function / Duties of Position

Operations

• Manages and supervises departmental staff by confirming, validating and teaching staff to uphold the department mission : provide an exceptional patient experience; ensure a clean environment that does not contribute to the spread of healthcare associated infection; and to facilitate timely patient flow.
• Ensures staffing assignments are complete to avoid missed assignments and / or unnecessary use of premium pay.
• Maintains a working knowledge of the hospital bed tracking system (Epic) and ensures response times are met.
• Manages staffing and the operations to allow for breaks and lunches that are consistent with Oregon Law, OHSU policy, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.
• Ensures accurate timekeeping for staff.
• Demonstrates strong team player skills and the ability to work harmoniously with a diverse workforce.
• Manages and maintain pager and closet keys controls for the department shift.
• Maintains employee records per OHSU policy.
