Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Florence, Alabama (35630) – Northern Alabama healthcare jobs

Setting : Acute care, Medical-Surgical (Med / Surg) unit

Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : January 12, 2026 – End : April 13, 2026)

Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM), rotating weekends

Hours per Week : 36 (guaranteed hours)

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1730–$1820

Patient Population : Adult and geriatric

Unit Size : 18 beds

Patient Ratio : 1 : 6

Electronic Health Record : Meditech

Dress Code : Royal blue scrubs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Alabama or compact state

BLS certification (required)

Ability to float to other hospital units as needed

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med / Surg hospital setting

Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress using Meditech EHR

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation

Participate in unit activities and support a positive healthcare team environment

Float to other medical units as required
