Cashier / Clerk

Purpose of the position : To serve customer needs and wants at all times in a way that results in a satisfied repeat customer.

• Report prepared and ready for work, following company dress code standards at the scheduled time.
• Greet each customer with the specified company greeting – “Welcome to Yellow Goose.”
• Record all sales promptly and accurately following company standards.
• Maintain daily, a clean attractive store – inside and out – by completing all shift duties as stated.
• Complete cash balance sheet accurately, neatly and timely following company standards.
• Properly receive all merchandise and complete all invoices pertaining to said merchandise in a manner to maximize inventory control as stated in company standards.
• Make daily, bakery, deli products, coffee, etc., that is in accordance with health regulations and that meets or exceeds company standards.
• Minimize controllable store expenses by following company guidelines involving the handling of spoilage, breakage and items that are for store use.
• Practice plus selling at all times by following company guidelines by stating “Would you like anything else?”
• Promote merchandise specials with customers.
• Reduce theft loss and shrinkage by following company policies and procedures and practicing honesty in the workplace.
• Follow all company policies dealing with the sale of alcohol, tobacco and adult magazines.
• Follow all company policies pertaining to Lotto and Lottery.
• Complete time cards neatly and accurately on a daily basis as stated in company policies.
• Complete and balance all daily paperwork and deposits, neatly and accurately according to company guidelines.
• Meet personal objectives as set by your manager.
• Enforce all company standards, policies and guidelines.
• Must be able to stand for up to an 8 hour shift on a hard surface floor in performance of cashier duties.
• Must be able to carry up to 60 pounds and lift up to 5 feet high.
• Must be able to push / pull brooms or mops in order to clean floors and parking areas.
• Must be able to work in temperatures of 40 degrees for up to a 15- minute duration in the stocking and maintenance of coolers.
• Must be able to climb a ladder in the cleaning of windows.
• Must be able to tolerate chemicals in the cleaning of counters, floors, and other facilities.
