Overview :

  • A Chico-based nonprofit organization is seeking a Fiscal Analyst to join its fiscal team.
  • The Fiscal Analyst will support financial operations, grant management, budgeting, and external audits.
  • This role is critical in maintaining strong fiscal systems, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial insight to leadership.
  • The successful candidate will initially work with close guidance for 6 to 12 months, with the opportunity for advancement as experience grows.

Requirements / Job Duties :

  • Prepare, analyze, and present accurate and timely financial reports, including bank reconciliations, grant reporting, and financial statements.
  • Lead the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors.
  • Oversee and lead the annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the CEO and Fiscal Accountant.
  • Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting.
  • Implement a robust contracts management and financial management / reporting system.
  • Update and implement necessary finance policies and accounting practices.
  • Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters to the CEO and board of directors.
  • Work closely and transparently with all external partners, including third-party vendors and consultants.
  • Oversee administrative functions and facilities to ensure efficient and consistent operations.
  • Process accounts receivable (AR) tasks, banking and bank relations, cash receipts, and deposits.
  • Process all aspects of the role, including serving as back-up for attendance processing.

    • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; MBA or CPA a plus. 7 to 10 years of professional experience, with at least 6 years of broad financial and operational management; nonprofit and grant management experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with accounting software (including Financial Edge).
  • Commitment to training programs that maximize individual and organizational goals.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • A multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the organization’s mission.
  • Desire for growth and opportunities for advancement.

    • Compensation :

  • This position offers a competitive hourly range of $40.00 to $45.00, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • The organization provides an outstanding benefits package, including 100% employer-paid premiums for employee medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Additional benefits include a retirement plan, as well as paid vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay.
