We’re looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to join our growing team. As Lucky Orange’s new Sr. Software Engineer, you’ll lead the development, management and testing of our SDKs and external API ecosystem. This role requires someone with a strong infrastructure and architecture mindset, passionate about enabling seamless, bidirectional data exchange between Lucky Orange and platforms with an interest in exploring and optimizing the flow of information into Model Context Protocol (MCPs).

As the newest Sr. Software Engineer on our team, your day will likely include :
Design, develop and maintain a robust array of APIs and core services that enable data exchange with various platforms, databases and protocolsArchitect and build a resilient API platform to support both internal and external integration projectsServe as a subject matter expert, providing prototypes and technical guidance on Lucky Orange APIs to external developersPartner with stakeholders to design and refine data flows that are robust, efficient, and aligned with business needsDesign, prototype and advocate for significant improvements to our tools, architecture, and integration workflowsPlan and lead infrastructure enhancements that streamline our integration processes and facilitate the smooth onboarding of contractor engineersTake full ownership of the customer-facing integration ecosystem — including APIs, SDKs, and related services — from initial design and development through release, maintenance, and external developer supportDevelop and support high-quality client-side SDKs that are reliable across multiple platforms and user environmentsTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by external SDK users and partners.Maintain and improve existing SDKs based on user feedback and emerging industry trends.Produce clear, comprehensive technical documentation for internal and external developers, including our integration partners and contractorsStay current with the latest trends and best practices in SDK development, API design, and security standards to ensure our platform remains cutting-edge and secureWorking out of our office in Overland Park, Kan. (This role is not eligible for a remote working arrangement)What does it take?
5+ years of professional experience in software development, with a strong focus on API / SDK development and 3rd party API integrationProven experience in designing, building, and maintaining APIs and SDKs for external consumptionDemonstrated expertise in building an integrations ecosystem or working on multi-channel platformsStrong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems and modern web technologiesExcellent problem-solving, debugging and analytical skillsExceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for translating complex technical concepts into clear documentationStrong API knowledge (REST and GraphQL) for enterprise integrationsAbility to work in a (relaxed) office setting in Overland, Park, Kan., during typical working hours (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.), Monday through FridayHow do I stand out from the rest of the pack?
