We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support end‑to‑end payroll processing for a large and growing local organization. This person will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll for a workforce of 200+ employees, while maintaining compliance, handling sensitive employee data, and supporting both routine and complex payroll functions.

Responsibilities
- Process full‑cycle payroll on a weekly/bi‑weekly schedule for 200+ employees, including hourly, salary, bonus‑eligible, and variable compensation groups.
- Review, validate, and reconcile timecards, import data from time‑tracking systems, and resolve discrepancies before each payroll run.
- Calculate and process bonuses, commissions, retro pay, and special adjustments with a high level of accuracy.
- Manage garnishments, child support, levies, and other court‑ordered deductions, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Support payroll tax reviews, verify withholding accuracy, and assist with year‑end W‑2 preparation.
- Reconcile payroll reports, GL data, and benefit deductions across internal systems.
- Maintain payroll records, support audits, and ensure confidentiality of all employee information.
- Act as a resource for employees regarding pay, deductions, PTO balances, and payroll‑related inquiries.
- Partner with HR and Finance to improve processes, streamline workflows, and ensure consistent data integrity.
Qualifications
- 2–4+ years of payroll experience; experience processing payroll for 200+ employees is required.
- Strong knowledge of multi‑state payroll laws and compliance.
- Hands‑on experience with garnishments and other complex deductions.
- Ability to accurately calculate bonuses, commissions, retroactive pay, and other non‑standard earnings.
- Proficiency in payroll and HRIS systems (ADP, Paylocity, UKG, Paycom, or similar).
- Strong Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, data reconciliation).
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Excellent communication and customer‑service skills when supporting employees and internal teams.
