Job Description:
SUMMARY
Provides instructional training related to 911 Telecommunications/Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) from nationally certified 911 curriculum.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for providing instruction and preparing lesson plans based on nationally certified 911 curriculum
- Delivers training related to the Public Safety Telecommunications program
- Continually promotes students’ development and effective use of skills in areas such as critical and analytical thinking, evaluation, communication, professionalism, customer service, computation, problem solving, and decision-making
- Maintains accurate, up-to-date records of student academic and attendance performance
- Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Associate’s Degree
Significant related experience may substitute for education
- Minimum of five years of experience in Public Safety Communications
- Advanced communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in Word Processing and PowerPoint Presentation software, as well as Internet and Email basic skills
- Ability to assess and grade the progress of students
- Advanced communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills
- Possess sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population

- Associate’s Degree and certification in Telecommunications and EMD
- Must be able to obtain all required Instructor certifications within 60 days of hire date

- The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment;
