Our client in Bethesda, MD is seeking to hire an Accounting Manager to join their growing team. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional outsourced accounting solutions.

The team is known for its collaborative culture, technical precision, and commitment to empowering government contractors through strategic financial guidance. With a HYBRID work model(2 days onsite in office / week) and a strong preference for local talent in the Bethesda, MD area, the company offers the flexibility of remote work with the benefits of in-person collaboration.

Offering :

  • Competitive base salary $140,000-$150,000

What You'll Do as an Accounting Manager :

  • Serve as the lead advisor and accounting expert for a portfolio of GovCon clients.
  • Oversee full-cycle accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, GL, and month-end close.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, indirect rate models, and cash flow projections.
  • Guide and mentor junior staff, ensuring quality and consistency across deliverables.
  • Support year-end reporting, 1099s, audits, and DCAA compliance.
  • Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
  • Communicate directly with client executives, providing strategic insights and updates.

    • What We're Looking For in an Accounting Manager :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • CPA or MBA
  • 8-10+ years of accounting experience in government contracting
  • Management experience leading and developing team members
  • Unanet or Deltek software experience
  • Strong grasp of GAAP, FAR, and cost accounting standards.
  • Proven leadership in client relationships and project management.
  • Experience in boutique firms or consulting environments a plus.
