MUST HAVES:

Bachelor’s degree + 12 years of related experience, OR graduate degree + 10 years, OR 16 years of directly related experience in lieu of degree
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with ITAR and EAR
Minimum 5 years of experience with OFAC trade sanctions
Minimum 3 years of experience leading and managing a high-performing team
Deep expertise in . government trade regulations and compliance operations
We are seeking a highly experienced Global Trade Compliance Manager to lead all Trade Compliance activities for the Tactical Communications Sector of a major defense and technology organization. This is a high-visibility, mission-critical leadership role reporting directly to the Segment Director and overseeing a team of approximately 15 compliance professionals. The ideal candidate is a proven expert in . export regulations with the ability to drive strategy, manage risk, and ensure compliant execution across engineering, programs, business development, and operations.
Leadership & Strategy:
Lead, mentor, and manage the Sector Trade Compliance team
Implement and enforce trade compliance policies and procedures sector-wide
Serve as the Empowered Official, assessing compliance posture and communicating requirements to leadership
Build and maintain a collaborative, high-performing team culture
Compliance & Operations:
Partner across Licensing, Operations & Training, Customs & Traffic to deliver compliant business solutions
Interpret and advise on ITAR, EAR, and OFAC regulations
Prepare, review, and manage export authorizations and all required documentation
Oversee investigations, reporting, and resolution of potential compliance violations
Integrate trade compliance strategy into business pursuits and support key financial objectives
Support internal and external audits, including Compliance Assistance Visits
Collaborate with BD, Program Management, and cross-functional teams to support international sales planning and execution
Preferred Experience:
Background within a government contractor or aerospace & defense organization
Experience using OCR EASE or similar compliance systems
Prior military, Foreign Military Sales (FMS), or policy-related experience
Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional influence skills
Ability to interpret complex regulations and make sound risk management decisions
Travel: Approx. 20% domestic travel
