Position Overview We are seeking an experienced
Diesel Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our growing operations team. The ideal candidate will perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment to ensure all fleet vehicles operate safely and efficiently. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities - Conduct routine preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles (oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, fluid checks, etc.).
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, air systems, and electrical/hydraulic components.
- Perform DOT inspections and maintain compliance with all safety and maintenance standards.
- Identify mechanical problems using diagnostic equipment and software.
- Repair and replace worn or defective parts, including brakes, tires, and suspension systems.
- Document all maintenance and repair work accurately in service records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure all tools are used safely.
- Support the fleet manager in scheduling service intervals and ordering parts as needed.
- Respond to road calls or emergency breakdowns when required.
Qualifications - Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in diesel or heavy-duty vehicle maintenance.
- Knowledge of diesel engine systems, diagnostic tools, and air brake systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Valid driver's license (clean driving record).
