PLC Programmer

Job Overview :

Search Solution Group is seeking a PLC Programmer on behalf of our client, a leading manufacturer and supplier of fats, oils, mayonnaise, dressings, and sauces to the Foodservice, Food Ingredients, and Retail Private Label markets across North America. This role is responsible for managing, maintaining, and developing all plant programmable control systems while supporting key departments through automation, system upgrades, and process improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in PLC programming and a proactive approach to improving plant operations and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities :

• Troubleshoot existing PLC programs and computer-related processes to ensure optimal plant performance.
• Design and develop new programs, process controls, and automation systems to support production needs.
• Collaborate with the maintenance department on preventative maintenance duties related to computer processes.
• Support the engineering department in developing new processes and executing automation-driven cost reduction projects.
• Manage and maintain the plant's computer network systems in coordination with Corporate IT.
• Ensure all system modifications and updates are clearly documented for historical reference.
• Order, specify, and manage all hardware and software for plant systems.
• Oversee plant computer system security, including email, access control, and password management.
• Provide troubleshooting assistance to the electrical department and support project implementation.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, Plant Superintendent, or Plant Manager.
• Travel to other facilities as required to support programming or system integration projects.
