Manufacturing Controls Development Engineer
Onsite role - 5 days a week - Reno, Nevada
They will take someone in Austin, TX (sometimes they will be in Reno for 2 weeks at a time).

- The Powertrain Manufacturing Controls team delivers new manufacturing lines to produce vehicle and energy products at Tesla factories. As a Manufacturing Controls Development Engineer, you are directly responsible for the design and implementation of these manufacturing lines.
What You’ll Do
Design and launch manufacturing equipment for new products being mass-produced for the first timeDevelop next generation controls systems that merge traditional PLC logic with the benefits of a modern software stackBe the person capable of doing it all. Perform hands-on work with full-scale production equipment, from initial commissioning to mass production and rampContribute to Tesla’s hardware and software standards for future equipment developmentLead machine suppliers to successful project delivery. Collaborate on high-level machine and line designs decisions, lead supplier design reviews and factory acceptance testing, and coordinate across multiple internal teams to land a successful production line at any Tesla facility.What You’ll Bring
Programming proficiency in PLC or industrial controllers (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff) using ladder logic and structured text (Siemens programming is required, everything else can be a plus)Experience programming and setting up industrial robots (e.g., Fanuc)Electrical schematic design using ePLAN or AutoCADExperience in a manufacturing settingHands-on experience troubleshooting and fixing electro-mechanical devicesFamiliar with common hand tools and diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters)Thanks
