Process Engineer – Operations & Maintenance

Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer to support operations and maintenance activities for advanced ultra-pure water (UPW) systems . This role provides hands-on technical expertise across process optimization, system design, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standards of water quality, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Process Optimization : Analyze, evaluate, and improve ultra-pure water processes to enhance efficiency, reliability, and compliance with quality standards
Technical Troubleshooting : Provide advanced process-level support, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
Documentation & Compliance : Develop, maintain, and update process documentation, SOPs, and technical specifications
Process Design : Create and maintain process specifications, P&IDs, mass balances, sequences of operation, and functional logic for water treatment systems
Project Support : Collaborate with automation, commissioning, innovation, sales, and procurement teams on system upgrades, modifications, and new technology implementations
Training & Knowledge Sharing : Support O&M engineers and technicians through process training, documentation, and best-practice guidance
Safety Compliance : Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures, standards, and regulations
Additional Duties : Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support operational objectives
Required Qualifications
Proficiency in AutoCAD Plant 3D
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Solid understanding of industrial process systems, preferably within water or wastewater treatment environments
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution
Up to three (3) years of related professional experience , or an equivalent combination of education and relevant technical experience
Travel Requirements
Ability to travel on a case-by-case basis to support projects, troubleshooting, training, or other operational needs at additional site
