Do you love pets storytelling and creative content that drives real impact The Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) is looking for a passionate and experienced Social Media Manager to join our marketing team and bring our lifesaving mission to life across every major platform. From heartwarming adoption stories to behind-the-scenes moments this role is perfect for someone who thrives on meaningful engagement strategic planning and audience growth.

What Youll Do

Strategic Planning & Content Development

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with HSNTs brand and programmatic goals.
  • Lead content planning and publishing across all platforms including Facebook Instagram Threads LinkedIn TikTok and more.
  • Collaborate with the Multimedia Manager to build and maintain a content calendar and capture visuals that inspire action.
  • Create write and schedule high-quality engaging content-adoption features event recaps fundraising campaigns and day-in-the-life moments.

Community Engagement & Growth

  • Monitor and respond to direct messages comments tags and mentions to build community and maintain brand voice.
  • Grow social media audiences through content innovation engagement tactics and strategic collaboration.
  • Provide support and light oversight of Equine Program social platforms (managed by a separate team).

    • Campaign Execution & Performance

  • Lead social promotion for major campaigns and fundraising events including National Adoption Week MEGA Adoption Events HSNT-hosted initiatives and offsite adoption events.
  • Post all HSNT events to Facebook and support cross-channel promotion.
  • Work with Meta Business Suite and Wix to ensure visibility across organic and paid channels.
  • Track and report monthly metrics with actionable insights to improve performance.

    • Team Collaboration

  • Communicate asset needs to the Multimedia Manager assist with light graphic editing if needed (using Canva etc.).
  • Collaborate with the Multimedia Manager on in-studio photo and video sessions; assist with pet handling staging and content setup. This role is active and hands-on during filming days and requires comfort moving around to help capture dynamic content.
  • Train internal staff on social best practices when needed (e.g. for location-specific posts or stories).
  • Support on-site at select weekend events to capture content and post in real time.

    • What you Bring

  • 2-3 years of professional social media experience (non-profit animal welfare or lifestyle / mission-driven brands preferred).
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills.
  • Experience managing Meta Business Suite Meta Ad Manager.
  • Understanding of content trends and how to use data to inform content strategy.
  • Working knowledge of Canva Google Suite and basic video editing tools.

    • Working Conditions

  • By nature of the industry this position may be consistently exposed to airborne particles and / or animal allergens and odors. There also may be occasional exposure to dead sick unruly and / or dangerous animals in addition to exposure to parasites and infectious diseases.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
