Pay Information $475 to $515 per hour About The Position Cardiothoracic Surgery Locums in Illinois - Only 1-2 Weekends Per Month This Cardiothoracic Surgery Locums assignment in Illinois offers the ideal opportunity to maintain your surgical skills and supplement your income with flexible, short-term coverage. We have an ongoing need starting in Spring 2026, and only need 1-2 weekends per month to fill the gap in coverage. Let's talk about how this can fit your professional and personal life. Highlights Only 1-2 weekends per month still available-you choose the dates that work with your schedule. Ongoing need starting April 2026 for PRN coverage. Travel and lodging provided for this locums assignment. Malpractice insurance included. Practice Setting Inpatient setting. Daily census of approximately 7 patients. Average 3 admissions per shift. CVU team assists with patient questions during rounds. Schedule Shift-Based coverage for 1-2 weekends per month . No long-term commitment required for this assignment. Pager call with a 30-minute response time for emergent cases. Procedures and Cases Primarily managing CABG cases post-surgery. Performing Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (must have case log). Handling Cardiothoracic Surgery referrals from Cardiology. AM rounding and as needed for post-surgical patients if changes in condition. Requirements Board Certification in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery required. Active Illinois State Medical License. Must present a 24-month Case Log at the start of credentialing. Required certifications : ACLS, BLS, and DEA. Credentialing Requirements Credentialing timeframe is 120 days. Temporary privileges are available for faster starts.
