Summary

TGR Technical Center (a research company of TG’s located in Plymouth, MI) has an opening for a Test Technician in the Airbag Development department. The Airbag Test Technician functions with a high degree of autonomy, and is responsible for the preparation, setup, and execution of airbag development tests for OEM vehicle development and internal research and development for Toyoda Gosei (TG) North America Corporation (TGNA) and TGNA Manufacturing Companies (AMCs).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the pre-test setup of fixtures and vehicle bodies for airbag deployment testing.
- Responsible for the setup and operation of data acquisition, high-speed cameras, lighting, and other measurement equipment used for deployment tests.
- Accurately record setup details, test results, and other pertinent test information.
- Work with calibration team to ensure proper calibration and functionality of critical testing equipment.
- Support other areas of validation testing, including vibration and environmental, as needed.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize test methods and analyze test results.
- Drive optimization by being actively engaged in continuous improvement efforts (kaizen)
- This role requires the completion of other duties as assigned
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
Certifications and Education
Associate’s degree in a technical or related field is preferred, or equivalent years of experience is requiredExperience
2 to 4 years of experience in automotive safety and / or airbag testing is preferredPhysical Requirements
