American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position in a Level II Trauma Center, requiring a WV or Compact RN license and ACLS / BLS certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 32-bed Emergency Department in an acute care hospital settingServes adult and pediatric populations with common ER conditions, including chest pain, respiratory failure, abdominal pain, and minor traumasTypical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 4 in the main ER, 1 : 5 in lower acuity, and 1 : 4-6 in the Fast Track areaTriage area and separate Fast Track open daily from 11am to 11pmTele monitoring required and ability to read and interpret strips is necessaryUses Epic EMR for all documentation12-hour night shifts with every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) requiredNo floating outside the Emergency DepartmentLevel II trauma center, with major traumas stabilized and transferred to a sister facilityMust wear royal blue scrubsAll staff participate in the holiday rotation with permanent staffFirst-time travelers are welcome and 1-2 shifts of floor-specific orientation provided with a preceptorNo false nails allowed as part of infection preventionReturning travelers must have a 2-year break from all WVU Medicine locations before reapplyingTravelers cannot work within the WVU Medicine system for more than one year without a two-year breakFacility is very welcoming to travelers and offers a supportive work environment\n \n Requirements\n
Active WV or Compact RN license requiredMinimum of 2 years Emergency Department RN experienceCurrent ACLS and BLS certifications requiredPALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications preferred (TNCC can be obtained at the facility at traveler’s expense)Must be able to read and interpret telemetry stripsExperience with EPIC EMR preferredCandidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from facilitySubmission requires an unexpired driver’s license\n Benefits\n
