American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Bridgeport, West Virginia.

Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position in a Level II Trauma Center, requiring a WV or Compact RN license and ACLS / BLS certifications.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a 32-bed Emergency Department in an acute care hospital setting
  • Serves adult and pediatric populations with common ER conditions, including chest pain, respiratory failure, abdominal pain, and minor traumas
  • Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 4 in the main ER, 1 : 5 in lower acuity, and 1 : 4-6 in the Fast Track area
  • Triage area and separate Fast Track open daily from 11am to 11pm
  • Tele monitoring required and ability to read and interpret strips is necessary
  • Uses Epic EMR for all documentation
  • 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required
  • No floating outside the Emergency Department
  • Level II trauma center, with major traumas stabilized and transferred to a sister facility
  • Must wear royal blue scrubs
  • All staff participate in the holiday rotation with permanent staff
  • First-time travelers are welcome and 1-2 shifts of floor-specific orientation provided with a preceptor
  • No false nails allowed as part of infection prevention
  • Returning travelers must have a 2-year break from all WVU Medicine locations before reapplying
  • Travelers cannot work within the WVU Medicine system for more than one year without a two-year break
  • Facility is very welcoming to travelers and offers a supportive work environment

  • Active WV or Compact RN license required
  • Minimum of 2 years Emergency Department RN experience
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications preferred (TNCC can be obtained at the facility at traveler’s expense)
  • Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
  • Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from facility
  • Submission requires an unexpired driver’s license
