Principal DevSecOps Engineer

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 5+ years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with 3+ years, or a PhD with 1+ year of experience.

DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE).

Strong systems administration experience with Windows and Linux operating environments.

Experience working with major cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.

Hands-on experience with DevSecOps practices, pipelines, and processes supporting large-scale government systems.

Familiarity with agile software development principles and long-term program planning.

Interest and aptitude in developing Infrastructure-as-Code using tools such as Terraform or Helm.

Experience configuring and maintaining CI / CD pipelines, including automated builds, testing, and quality gates (e.g., Jenkins).

Strong communication skills with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Ability to write or review code in languages such as Java or Python.

U.S. Citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance (or higher).

Ability to work full-time in a secure, in-person, closed-area environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).

Experience with configuration management and source control tools (Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).

Familiarity with branching strategies, gated commits, and code management best practices.

Programming / scripting experience in UNIX environments (C++, Perl, Python, Bash, Ruby, Shell).

Programming / scripting experience in Windows environments (PowerShell, etc.).

Experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments.

Experience with software development in modern languages (Java / JavaScript, C++, C#, etc.) and full software lifecycle processes.

Experience with Agile practices for delivering high-quality products.

Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, GitLab / GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus.

Familiarity with secure coding standards and static / dynamic scanning tools (SonarQube, Fortify, Coverity).

Experience deploying and maintaining applications on Kubernetes clusters
