Overview
Full Stack Web Developer — Anywhere (Remote)
Contract-to-Hire opportunity in the Government industry. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining digital products that modernize legacy systems for the House of Representatives, including HouseCal / Deconflict, Legidex, and Personas. This role requires expertise across front-end and back-end development, delivering high-quality, scalable solutions in collaboration with the House Digital Service team. Pay rate : $60-65 / hr. The client prefers candidates located in the DC, Maryland, or Virginia areas.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis and convert to full-time employment following the contract duration. For W2 consultants, benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrated capability in building full-stack custom web applications with HTML, CSS, ReactJS / TypeScript, Nuxt, Node.js, SQL, Redis, and Python.
- Extensive experience building, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex ETL jobs and pipelines using Pentaho Data Integration that aggregate data from numerous different datasources.
- Expert at building REST APIs for consumption by other applications using DreamFactory and Directus.
- Demonstrated expertise with implementing Model Context Protocol (MCP) with proprietary data sources for RAG applications.
- Proven track record of building administrative content management dashboards using both Directus and custom TypeScript / Javascript / ReactJS.
- Well-versed in containerization deployment technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficient with building, running, and troubleshooting complex GitLab CI / CD pipelines, including pipelines for monorepo deployments with many projects.
- Strong command of Microsoft SQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL database design and querying, including designing and optimizing database schemas for custom software.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Entra App Registrations and Enterprise Registrations, as well as integrating applications with Entra using OAuth2 and MSAL.
Experience Requirements
Direct experience with the House of Representatives and / or the U.S. Senate.10+ years of full-stack web development experience.Education
