Electrical & Assembly Technician — Temp-to-Perm ($25–$30 / hour)Overview
We are seeking a skilled Electrical & Assembly Technician with a strong focus on machine wiring, as well as experience in box / panel building. This is a temp-to-perm position offering $25–$30 per hour, depending on experience. The ideal candidate will contribute to our manufacturing team by performing electrical assembly, wiring, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform soldering and crimping of small gauge wires.
- Assemble electrical sub-panels and cabinets, ensuring high quality and adherence to specifications.
- Construct wiring harnesses according to technical drawings and standards.
- Propose and implement process and equipment improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve safety.
- Support production activities to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Cross-train other technicians on assembly, troubleshooting, and testing procedures.
- Document failures and defects using established company quality processes.
- Collaborate effectively within a team to meet quality, safety, and productivity targets.
- Work overtime as needed to meet production schedules.
- Mentor other technicians in assembly, troubleshooting, and product testing.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering on fixture development, process improvements, corrective actions, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to 5S and lean manufacturing principles and practices within an ISO 9001 certified environment.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent is required; technical schooling in precision manufacturing is preferred.Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder, with evidence of permanent ability to live and work in the US as an employment contingency.We welcome applicants with varying levels of experience.Skills & Requirements
Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.Capable of completing assembly and test records for regulatory and quality control purposes.Proficient in using standard hand tools, drills, and other relevant equipment.Skilled with hand crimp tools and in the fabrication of cables and / or harnesses.Familiarity with IPC / WHMA-A-620 Cable & Wiring Harness standards.Experience with standard D-subminiature connectors.Familiarity with machine and cabinet wiring.Ability to work with wires ranging from 10-32 AWG.Soldering experience is essential, including electrical components and small gauge wires. A soldering certificate is desirable.Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills.Ability to mentor and train other employees effectively.
