We are searching for a Virtual Medical Assistant with our Texas Children's Virtual Support Center - someone to provide patient care and excellent customer service as the first contact for patients, providers, and staff accessing virtual and / or non-virtual ambulatory clinics.

One of the following required :
- CCMA- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant certificate from the National Health career Association required
- CMA-AAM- Certified Medical Assistant from the American Association of Medical Assistants
- EMT Certified Emergency Medical Technologist from the Texas Department of State and Health Services required
- EMT-A Certified Advanced Emergency Medical Technologist from the Texas Department of State and Health Services required
- EMT-B Certified Emergency Medical Technologist-Basic from the Texas Department of State and Health Services required
- EMT-I Certified Emergency Medical Technologist-Intermediate from the Texas Department of State and Health Services required
- EMT-P Certified Emergency Medical Technologist-Paramedic from the Texas Department of State and Health Services required
- LIC PAR- License Paramedic from the Texas Department of State and Health Services required
- NCMA- National Medical Assistant Certification from the National Center for Competency Testing required
- NRCMA - Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant from the National Association of Health Professionals required
- RMA- Registered Medical Assistant from the American Association of Medical Personnel, American Allied Health, American Medical Technologists, or American Registry of Medical Assistants required
- 2 years related experience required
- 2 years Ambulatory telemedicine experience preferred
- Experience in a healthcare setting or customer service focused industry preferred

Responsibilities
Welcomes and interacts with all patients, families, and visitors in a professional, timely, age appropriate, and culturally sensitive mannerCoordinates communications including phone calls, pages, faxes, etc. in a friendly, professional, and timely mannerFacilitates the appointment check-in and virtual rooming procedurePerforms patient registration procedures per clinic processChecks on the activation status of the patient portal. Identifies and offers access to the patient or patient proxy according to organizational guidelinesReschedules missed appointments or adds to clinic waitlistCollaborates with clinic staff to ensure efficient patient flowVerifies required paperwork is completed by the patient to ensure accuracy of informationValidates that the appointment is able to proceed by ensuring the presence of the patient and a legal guardian.Ensures appointment is taking place in a state in which the provider is licensed. Assesses that the patient and other parties are in a safe and secure settingCompletes check out for patients and familiesProvides education and guidance around telemedicine
