Teaching Artist

Arts4All Florida's Teaching Artists are education professionals who have the experience and knowledge to develop, coordinate, and present art programs to students with disabilities in a variety of settings including schools, community centers, libraries, and Department of Juvenile Justice facilities. Teaching Artists must be comfortable working with and making accommodations for a variety of disabilities and adapting lessons to the needs and abilities of all of their students.

Please note, this is a grant funded position that requires regular travel to program locations. Candidates must have reliable transportation.

Arts4All Florida provides, supports and champions arts education and cultural experiences for and by people with disabilities. A private not-for-profit organization, Arts4All Florida conducts art education programs in schools, Department of Juvenile Justice facilities, and community centers; promotes the accomplishments of artists with disabilities through our artist registry, exhibitions, and performances; and increases access to the arts through professional development workshops. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Art, Education, Exceptional Student Education, or a related field or equivalent with one year of experience teaching Art or Exceptional Student Education. Five years of teaching Art or Exceptional Student Education may be substituted for a degree.

Knowledge of Florida Standards and Florida Early Learning and Development Standards.

Work with the classroom teacher / site liaison to define the learning goals for each program, as assigned.

Develop the curricula for each program, including appropriate Florida Standards or Florida Early Learning and Development Standards.

Determine and purchase appropriate supplies for the program.

Teach the programs.

Complete student evaluations.

Complete a program evaluation.
