Job Summary :

The Accounting / Travel Supervisor will oversee financial operations and travel coordination within the Family Medicine Department. This role ensures compliance with institutional policies, supervises two administrative staff, and supports 178+ faculty, residents, fellows, and staff with financial and travel-related needs.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Management, or Administration related field
  • 2 years increasingly responsible administrative support experience to include management and accounting / travel experience.
  • Microsoft Outlook,Microsoft Excel,Microsoft Word

Will consider additional related post high school education in lieu of required experience.

  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills to guide, support, and collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Provides direction and mentorship to staff, fostering a productive and respectful work environment.
  • Exercises sound judgment in delegating tasks and managing team priorities.
  • Maintains accountability for team performance, ensuring deadlines and compliance standards are met.
  • Effectively handles high-pressure situations and supports staff in navigating challenges.
  • Proactively identifies issues and implements solutions, balancing autonomy with strategic consultation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • SAP,Concur, Workday, ADIS, SPA Tickler, RSS, Strata, Ariba

  • Self-motivated and capable of operating independently with minimal supervision, while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to manage competing demands across multiple projects.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
  • Skilled in tracking progress, following up, and ensuring follow-through on departmental initiatives.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information and enforces compliance with institutional policies.
  • Familiar with and ensures adherence to organizational standards (e.g., UNMC, NM) and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook, for reporting and communication.
  • Experienced with financial systems such as CONCUR, SAP, or similar platforms.
  • Solid understanding of financial processes including accounts payable, reconciliation, and travel
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with faculty, staff, residents, and external vendors.
  • Provides courteous and responsive support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitates clear and professional communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness in navigating administrative and financial challenges.
  • Capable of managing diverse tasks and deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Leads efforts to improve processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • The ideal supervisor demonstrates strong leadership and clear communication, guiding teams with professionalism and accountability. They operate independently with minimal oversight, effectively managing stress, competing priorities, and diverse tasks. With exceptional organizational and time management skills, they ensure accuracy and follow-through across all responsibilities. Proficient in financial systems and office technologies, they maintain confidentiality and uphold institutional compliance standards. Their resourcefulness, problem-solving ability, and commitment to stakeholder engagement make them a reliable and responsive leader in a dynamic environment.
