CARDIOVASCULAR ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGIST

Job Description Summary :

The Vascular Sonographer independently performs professional level assessments and a variety of non-invasive studies using ultrasound and related diagnostic technology as appropriate and records the results and clinical preliminary impressions as indicated. The sonographer encounters difficult problems related to examination evaluations daily and must resolve them with limited supervision. There is daily contact with professionals and families. This position is a full performance Vascular Sonographer with advanced knowledge of peripheral and cerebral vascular anatomy, physiology, and disease. The sonographer assists with peripheral non-invasive testing, carotid and transcranial duplex, aorta, and renal duplex scans. This position reports to the Director of Imaging.

Specific Duties :

  • Produce images of consistently good quality within the parameters and protocols established by Madison Health
  • Perform required quality assurance testing on the imaging equipment and submit as required
  • Maintain productivity that is commensurate with training, experience and number of hours worked when compared with peers working under similar conditions on similar equipment
  • Adjust scan parameters to achieve images of high quality on all types of patients, including claustrophobic patients, larger patients, or patients of any age
  • Provide continuity of care while communicating with all team members
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership and supervisory staff

    • Qualifications :

  • Registered by the ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) as a RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) or Registered by CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) as a RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist) : Required
  • Highest Level of Education Required : Associate Degree
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS / CPR) : Required (within 90 days of hire)
  • Minimum one-year experience in peripheral and cerebral vascular disease imaging : Required
  • Persistent to detail, thorough and exact
  • In good physical and mental health

    • License / Certification :

  • BLS Certification (Required)
  • ARMDS, RVT, CCI (Required)

    • Previous cardiovascular and peripheral vascular disease experience required.
