Piping CAD Design / Drafter Overview

As a Piping CAD Design / Drafter with RWDC Industries , you will play a crucial role in our engineering team, supporting the design and implementation of piping systems for various projects. This position is ideal for someone eager to learn and grow in a collaborative environment while contributing to innovative solutions in piping design.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of piping layouts and designs using CAD software, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to analyze piping systems and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Support the preparation of detailed piping design drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Participate in project meetings and assist in the coordination of design activities with other disciplines.
  • Conduct site visits to gather data and assess existing conditions for new projects.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Associate's degree and experience in related field.
  • Basic understanding of piping design principles and relevant industry codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit).

    • Preferred :

  • Internship or co-op experience in piping design or related fields.
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling software (e.g., Revit, Plant 3D).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

    • Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies

  • Understanding of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics as they relate to piping systems.
  • Experience with pipe stress analysis tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME, ANSI, and API.
