POSITION SUMMARY
As an Event Planning Intern at GY Properties you will play a key role in curating engaging resident events assisting with corporate gatherings and supporting resident-led clubs. This position is ideal for someone passionate about event coordination community engagement and hospitality. You will gain hands-on experience in planning organizing and executing events that enhance resident experience and corporate culture.
This internship is unpaid and is for Spring 2026 semester course credit with a 20-hour / week requirement. The candidate will report to the Philadelphia office.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Resident Event Curation : Plan and execute engaging community events that foster connection among residents such as themed socials wellness activities and networking gatherings.
Corporate Event Assistance : Support the planning and logistics of internal corporate events including team-building activities celebrations and meetings.
Resident-Led Clubs : Assist in organizing and promoting resident-led clubs and activities ensuring they align with community interests and company values.
Vendor Coordination : Research communicate with and coordinate vendors for event needs such as catering entertainment and decor.
Event Promotion : Work with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns to maximize event attendance and engagement.
Budget Tracking : Assist in managing event budgets ensuring cost-effective planning and execution.
Logistical Support : Oversee event setup execution and breakdown ensuring a smooth experience for attendees.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Current Enrollment : Must be a junior or senior student pursuing a degree in Event Planning Hospitality Marketing Communications or a related field.
Organizational Skills : Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Attention to Detail : Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure seamless event execution.
Interpersonal Skills : Strong communication and customer service skills to interact effectively with residents vendors and team members.
Creativity & Initiative : Ability to generate fresh ideas for engaging events and take initiative in executing them.
Technical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint). Familiarity with Canva or event management software is a plus.
Availability : Must be available to work 20 hours per week in-person in Philadelphia PA.
HOURS : Part-time opportunity : 20h / week
