Job Description : About the Role :
Step into the front lines of critical care at the UF Small Animal Hospital! As an ECC ICU & ER Veterinary Technician , you’ll be part of a fast-paced, high-impact team providing hands-on care to our most critical patients – from ventilated cases and seizures to open-heart surgeries and acute kidney crises.
As our service continues to grow, now offering more advanced treatments such as dialysis and post op care for our open-heart program, we are excited to offer multiple full-time opportunities for both day and overnight shifts. These roles follow a compressed schedule of three -hour shifts per week (totaling hours), with shift options from 6 : AM to 8 : PM or 6 : PM to 8 : AM. While scheduling is flexible and negotiable, at least one shift will likely include partial weekend coverage.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives under pressure, has a strong work ethic, and is energized by the dynamic nature of emergency and intensive care. You’ll rotate through the ER, triaging and stabilizing walk-in patients while collaborating closely with clinicians and fellow technicians. Minimum Requirements :
Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Technician I : High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational / technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Technician II : Credentialed veterinary technician.
