Pathway Talent Partners is partnering with a growing organization to identify a skilled Senior Accountant . This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys owning core accounting processes, supporting close activities, and ensuring accurate financial reporting in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, supporting month-end and year-end close, and producing accurate financial reports. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally and contribute to continuous process improvement as the organization grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger , ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
- Prepare and post journal entries , including accruals, prepaids, and adjustments
- Support and execute month-end and year-end close activities, meeting established deadlines
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial reports and account reconciliations; investigate and resolve variances
- Oversee and perform accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and accuracy
- Manage daily customer invoicing and monitor collections, including follow-up on outstanding balances
- Process expense reports and outgoing payments in accordance with company policies
- Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns and assist with annual business tax filings
- Support internal controls, audits, and compliance reporting requirements
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency within accounting operations
- Serve as a resource and mentor to junior accounting staff as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required5+ years of progressive accounting experience , preferably within manufacturing or regulated industriesStrong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and close processesSolid understanding of GAAP and financial reportingProficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems requiredExperience with sales tax and compliance reporting preferredStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple prioritiesEffective written and verbal communication skillsWhy This Role?
